Job Title: Store Planner 

Reports to: Allocation Manager 

Department: Planning 

Function: Buying and 
Merchandising 



 Job Purpose 

 To support the retail operations in providing the right product right place and right time by allocating
merchandise to the retail stores, partnering with buying and planning to maintain proper assortments
and inventory levels.

 Key Accountabilities: 


. Responsible to allocate specific product ranges to stores, maximizing the full sales potential.
. Analyze and identify sales opportunities and minimize the effects of slow merchandise through MIS
analysis.
. Manage inventory flow by region, store, and store groups (to include store size, climate,
seasonally, capacity, etc.) to budget
. Implement store assortments in conjunction with buying team, considering store groups (to
include store size, climate, seasonally, capacity, etc.) so as to maximize sales, gross profit and
GMROI
. Provide quantitative analysis to support planning, buying and retail (CM) decisions both
preseason and in- season to maximize opportunities
. Ensure that all product is shipped in compliance with product launch dates and new store
opening dates
. Create and maintain smooth product flows by development of outbound flow from the DC on
specific timelines
. Consolidate, analyze and communicate size and location based performance, including
sales/inventory comparisons, seasonality and marketing impacts with the manager
. Manage inventory flow to maintain assortment balance. Track warehouse inventory status.
Communicate store needs to Buying and Planning
. Execute the allocation of product to stores and warehouse (3rd party –forward cover) and meet
weekly allocation goals for stores – (Important (keep as daily bench mark)
. Develop and implement new store allocation plan/ re-fit stores to ensure proper inventory
levels and product mix with approvals from the manager

Key Expected Achievment 

. Stock flow management between CDC and RDC as per assigned region and country
. Stock balances per country per store
. Allocation per trends (sales; needs)
. Right stock , Right quantities , Right place
. Maximize sales by doing proper allocation and dispatch to regions
. Maintaining inventory level of CDC as well as regions
. Balancing the stock allocation as per store’s ideal inventory (under process)
. Prioritize dispatch as per business needs by keeping track of receipt of each shipment
. Co-ordination with CDC about the status of shipments allocated and dispatch status
respectively.

Qualifications & Experience 

. Atleast a bachelor’s degree in business Management / Commerce or related discipline.
. Approx 3-5 years of similar Allocation / Merchandise planning experience within the Fashion
Retail Industry is required.
. A strong quantitative aptitude, a keen sense of curiosity and attention to Details is essential.
. Must understand merchandising, inventory management and Product costing.
. Advanced Excel proficiency required.
. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential.
. proactive and an excellent team player
